Print from 35mm slide dated 1971.
There is a very good dog here. I imagine his owner wanted to show off what a good dog he is.
For me, and maybe for you, this goes beyond an average dog pic. The photographer has, consciously or unconsciously, made some interesting compositional decisions.
First, he or she is at the dog’s level! We’re looking at the good dog right in the eyes (or we would be if he had his bangs trimmed).
The railing on the left directs our eye right to the good dog. The variety of greens throughout the image were probably unplanned, but create such a complementary scheme with the evening pink light.
And his tongue? With the pink flowers behind him? Too perfect.
